Shorong - Hinku region of Nepal at 1:50,000 on a waterproof and tear-resistant map in the famous Schneider series, revised in 2013 to include extensive tourist information for trekking routes in the area directly south of the Sagarmatha National Park. Centered on Lukla, coverage extends north to Namche Bazaar and south just beyond Kharikhola and the central part the Jiri to Mount Everest trail. Also highlighted is the trail via Kote to the Mera Peak Base Camp and High Camp.

The Indigenous People Trail map at 1:75,000 highlighting a trekking circuit in the less visited part of Nepal directly east of Kathmandu. The map is part of the Nepa Maps series which provides extensive coverage of trekking areas of Nepal on detailed contoured maps with trekking routes and hiking trails, huts and camp sites, local places of interest and other tourist information.

The map covers an area directly east of Kathmandu, with Dhulikhel and Khopasi at its western edge and Charikot in the north-eastern corner. Numerous trails are marked, with the main highlighted route crossing the area east of the Sunkashi River. Contours are at 80m intervals, with additional vegetation colouring. This is a guide book, for the illustrated overview see its companion book CWA329.

It may not have the aura of Everest or Annapurna, but the majestic mountain of Manaslu (8163m) has a remote charm that calls on all trekkers to discover the undiscovered. Lush forests, terraced hillsides, mysterious canyons, gargantuan summits and Buddhist culture are enticing. For so long beyond the horizon, the Tsum Valley is astonishing and secretive. Hilltop monasteries, traditional villages, colourful people, enigmatic yaks and hundreds of mani walls, chortens and kani gates add to the compulsive blend.

Authors Bob Gibbons and Sian Pritchard-Jones first visited Nepal in 1974 and 1982 respectively. Bob arrived overland from the UK in an old Land Rover, at a time when Boudhanath stupa was surrounded by fields and Freak Street was host to travellers and hippies. Soon after that trip he worked as an overland driver and trek manager for Exodus. Sian trekked around Annapurna en route home from work in New Zealand, meeting Bob in Kashmir on another trek. Between 1983 and 1998 they led over forty trekking groups each in Nepal, making at least fifteen ascents of the famous Poon Hill. They continue to visit Nepal regularly, writing or editing books about the Himalayan region, trekking and occasionally driving overland.
