100 Hut Walks in the AlpsOrdinær pris 259,00 kr
This popular guidebook by expert Kev Reynolds describes 100 day walks focusing on the mountain huts of the Alps. With walks in France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Slovenia, there are routes to suit every taste - from gentle and undemanding to long and tough, as well as all varieties of difficulty in between. What they have in common is a visit to a hut, each with its own character.
Some walks are perfect for lunch at a hut before a return to the valley base, others involve an overnight stay at a hut. In a few cases, a short hut-to-hut tour is suggested. The routes are grouped by country and by specific Alpine district.
Most of the routes avoid any climbing of a technical nature, beyond the odd scramble aided by a fixed rope. Notes on hut etiquette, what to take and an English-French-German-Italian glossary are also included to help trekkers get the most out of their time in the Alps.

Danube Bike Trail: Part 2Ordinær pris 249,00 kr
From Passau to Vienna. The Danube bicycle route between Passau and Vienna ranks as Europe's best-known and most-loved cycling route - and for good reason. No other section of the river offers as diverse a range of landscapes and cultural landmarks or as many historical sites. Tranquil valleys, fertile plains, and steep vineyards line the banks of one of Europe's great rivers, where pretty farms and glorious abbeys stand side-by-side. The loop of the Danube at Schlögen, the abbey at Melk, and the romantic Wachau wine-producing region are just some of the highlights along the 330 kilometer route.

The AdlerwegOrdinær pris 229,00 kr
The Adlerweg (or Eagle's Way) is a well maintained and waymarked 300km path traversing the length of the Austrian Tyrol from St Johann in the east to St Anton in the west. It follows established mountain and valley tracks to traverse the length of the Austrian state of Tyrol from east to west. 6 low-level alternative stages and a challenging 8 stage variant are included in this guidebook, with suggestions for a 15 day and 21 day trek. The six easier variant stages avoid the more airy parts, and eight more difficult Alpine Stages provide an alternative high-level trek through the Lechtaler Alps. Each stage is graded for difficulty but even the most difficult are accessible to most experienced walkers, and no special equipment is required. The route is also well served by good quality, well-positioned mountain accommodation and refreshment opportunities.

The Karnischer HöhenwegOrdinær pris 259,00 kr
This guidebook describes the Karnischer Höhenweg, a 170km long-distance walk through the beautiful Carnic Alps which straddle the border between Austria and Italy. Following a high Alpine trail along the main ridge, the route is clearly waymarked and requires a reasonable level of fitness, a sense of adventure and a head for heights, but no special equipment or technical expertise. It can be walked between mid-July and the end of September and takes up to a fortnight, though it is possible to devise shorter itineraries taking in the highlights.
The guide describes the full route of the Karnischer Höhenweg from Arnbach, near Sillian, to Arnoldstein, near Villach, and includes plenty of practical information to help you prepare for the walk. Each stage features comprehensive route description, clear mapping and fascinating insights into the history of the 'war in the mountains' plus other local points of interest. Accommodation listings and other useful contacts can be found in the appendices.
Also known as the Friedensweg ('Peace Trail'), the route follows the First World War front line, and reminders of the conflict are everywhere. But the trail isn't just rich in historical interest: this is Alpine ridge-walking at its best, boasting spectacular mountain vistas and views of the Dolomites, Hohe Tauern and Julian Alps. The guide covers two key variants of the trail, one on the Austrian side of the border, the other on the Italian side. Also included is an optional ascent of Monte Coglians, the highest peak in the Carnic Alps, and a visit to the open-air museum at the Plöckenpass.

Trekking in Austria´s Hohe TauernOrdinær pris 249,00 kr
A guide to four multi-day hut-to-hut trekking routes in Austria's Hohe Tauern region. The Hohe Tauern National Park is the largest in Europe. Within Austria it embraces the provinces of Tirol, Salzburg and Karnten (Carinthia).
This guidebook concentrates on three areas - the Reichen, Venediger and Gross Glockner groups. The Reichen Group Hut-to-Hut Rucksack Route will take five to six days to complete, starting from the resort town of Mayrhofen at the head of the Zillertal valley. The route described is suitable for those with good general mountain walking ability who are surefooted and vertigo free.
The Vendiger Group Hut-to-Hut Rucksack Route traverses the Venediger from south to north over seven days, starting in the Virgental valley at Streden. The route requires no greater skills than those needed to wander safely over the mountain areas of Britain. The eight day Venediger Glacier Tour is better suited to mountaineers.
Participants need to have the ability to cross glaciers safely using ropes, ice axes and crampons. The eight day Glockner Group Hut-to-Hut Rucksack Route is a circular tour around Austria's highest mountain. The route was created to allow hikers to cross through the mountains without having to make difficult glacier crossings and carry ropes and mountaineering equipment.
En route there is ample opportunity to climb some of the peaks and ascents and excursions are described. This book will appeal to groups of mixed ability and those looking to visit the Alps for the first time without the demands of the higher mountains of the western Alps. With lots of practical advice, including on glacier travel, and a comprehensive hut directory.
