The countries of South-East Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar/Burma, Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore on a map at 1:2,500,000 from Marco Polo Publishing with an index which includes geographical features, three city maps, descriptions of 15 best sights, etc. Coverage extends west to Dhaka to include eastern Bangladesh and the north-eastern states of India.

Cartography is from the renowned German publishers MairDumont. Relief shading with names of mountain ranges and spot heights, plus graphics for marshlands shows the topography. The map presents the regions' road and rail networks, also indicating local airports and ferry connections. Internal administrative boundaries are shown with names of the provinces and the map also indicates time zone boundaries. Interesting towns or villages and main cultural sights or natural curiosities are prominently highlighted, with 15 best sights cross-referenced to their descriptions in the booklet attached to the map cover. The map has latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 1°. Multilingual map legend and the descriptions include English.

Extensive index is in a separate 47-page booklet attached to the map cover and includes major sights and topographic features such as rivers, lakes, volcanoes, glaciers, etc; also provided are lists of national parks and World Heritage sites across the whole are of the map. Street plans show central Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Singapore.

A fold-out flap in the cover shows for route planning an overview of the whole area covered by the map prominently highlighting main places of interest, with the grid reference system in the margins making it easier to find locations on the main map. Also included are a distance/driving times table and basic driving regulations.

Indexed, waterproof and tear-resistant road map Northern Vietnam at 1:600,000 with topographic and tourist information, published by Reise Know-How as part of their highly acclaimed World Mapping Project. The map is double-sided to provide the best balance between a good scale and a convenient size sheet. Coverage extends south to Hue, with a generous overlap with the publishers' map of Southern Vietnam. The map also extends far into Laos, providing the same information as for Vietnam. In the adjoining areas of China only main road connections, larger towns and some places of interest are shown.

Road and rail networks are easy to see on a clear base which presents topography by altitude colouring with contours, spot heights, mountain passes and names of mountain ranges. Road network includes selected local tracks, gives driving distances on main roads, and indicates border crossing to neighbouring countries. Internal administrative boundaries are shown with names of the provinces. National parks and protected areas are marked and symbols highlight various places of interest, including UNESCO world heritage sites, archaeological remains, temples and museums, viewpoints, campsites, beaches, etc. Also shown is the old boundary between North and South Vietnam and locations connected with the war between these countries, as well as with the war of independence from France. The map has a grid with latitude and longitude at intervals of 30’, and an index of localities. Map legend includes English.

This map updates a fast-changing city to reflect its changing features. With this edition, we have doubled-up the map by adding a map of the Mekong Delta to the reverse side. The 'Nine Mouths of the Dragon' southernmost portion of VN, of which HCM City is a part, is a fascinating part of Asian life, where fervent religious temples originating with the Cham culture of Cambodia co-exist with the Cao Dai amalgam religious movement.
