Argentina at 1:1,500,000 on a large, double-sided map from Freytag & Berndt presenting the country on three overlapping panels, with an index booklet attached to the map cover also providing street plans Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Rosario.

The map divides the country north/south. On one side is northern Argentina, extending south to include Mendoza and Aconcagua, San Luis, Rio Cuarto and Rosario, plus the northern half of Uruguay, coverage of much of Paraguay including Asuncion, and parts of north-eastern Chile. On the reverse the remainder of the country is presented on two panels; coverage on the main panel starts in San Luis, extending east and west to Montevideo and Santiago, and continues southwards along the Andes beyond El Chaltén. The remainder of Patagonia and Terra del Fuego are on the third panel; coverage here includes Torres del Paine National Park and the Chilean islands south of it.

Bold relief shading and colouring for the Andes, with plenty of names of geographical features, do not detract from the presentation of road network which is graded into six types and shows locations of petrol stations. Tourist routes are highlighted. Railway lines are included and local airports are marked. Symbols indicate various places of interest including campsites. National parks and other protected areas are highlighted. The map also shows administrative boundaries with names of the provinces, and indicates numerous oil fields and pipelines. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 1º intervals. The index is in a booklet attached to the map cover, which also provides street plans of central Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Rosario. Also included is a map of the Falkland Islands at the same scale as the main map; place names are in English (Stanley, etc). Map legend includes English.

Burgenland at 1:200,000 in a series of road maps from Freytag & Berndt, the country’s leading publishers, with a separate index attached to the cover. Information includes sightseeing routes and long-distance hiking trails.

The maps have clear, effective relief shading to show the topography and indicate steep roads with gradient marks, show traffic restrictions and seasonal closures on mountain roads, etc. Tourist information includes scenic roads and special tourist sightseeing routes, places of interest, campsites and youth hostels, etc. An overprint highlights the national network of the long-distance footpaths indicating, where appropriate, their European numbers. A grid in steps of 10' indicates latitude and longitude. *Map legend includes English.* A separate index attached to the cover gives the postcode for each locality.

Central Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent in a series of handy pocket street plans from Freytag & Berndt. Town centre of each city is presented at 1:12,500 on a separate 26x27cm panel accompanied by an index. On the reverse, publisher’s recommendations are also listed separately for each city. Unlike other titles in this series, this title does not panels with a road map or the Fact File.

Each map in Freytag & Berndt’s City Pocket series is laminated, so waterproof and tear-resistant, and highlights the publishers’ recommendations of five best choices in five categories: shopping, restaurants and cafes, culture, nightlife and sights. On one side is an indexed street plan annotated with colour-coded markers highlighting the publishers’ recommendations, all listed on the reverse of the map with brief notes in several languages. In larger cities the plans cover only the central districts. Also provided are a small road map of the city’s environs, if appropriate a diagram of the metro network, and a Fact Box with phone numbers for tourist offices, car hire and emergency services. Map legend and notes on the recommendations include English.

Montreal and Ottawa at 1:15,000 from Freytag & Berndt on a large, double-sided map with each street plan occupying one side of the sheet. The street index, in a booklet attached to the map cover, lists Gatineau separately.

Metro and railway stations are prominently marked and for drivers access to and from highways is clearly laid out and car parks are indicated. Various institutions and places of interest are highlighted and named, in French only on the plan of Montreal and mainly in English in Ottawa, with bilingual names for the governmental institutions. Multilingual map legend includes English.

Coverage of Montreal extends north to Saint-Léonard, north-east to the Olympic stadium, east just beyond St. Laurence River, south to Verdun, and south-west to the Dorval airport.

Ottawa plan extends to Gloucester in the east, south to Nepean, north-west across the Ottawa River to include Gatineau and north to the Canadian Forces Base and the National Aviation Museum.

The Caucasus countries, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, on an indexed road map from Freytag and Berndt, with coverage of the adjoining Russian republics of Chechnya, Northern Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachaevo-circassia.

International borders and internal administrative boundaries are clearly shown, indicating Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia in Georgia, as well Nagorno-Karabakh and the Azerbaijani enclave within Armenia. Names of larger towns in Georgia, Armenia and Russia are also given in each country’s alphabet.

Topography is shown by relief shading and numerous spot heights, plus names of many chains within the Caucasus Mountains. Road network shows border crossings and driving distances on primary routes, and includes many secondary local roads and tracks. Railway lines and local airports are also shown.

Symbols mark main places of interest including World Heritage sites, and national parks or nature reserves are highlighted. The map has latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 1º. The index is in a separate booklet attached to the map cover.
