Egypt: Cairo & Nile Delta
Ordinær pris 199,00 krCairo is one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world (as is Egypt as a country, which we map separately). Side 1 focuses on the city itself, with insets of Alexandria, the pyramids of Gizi, and the region immediately surrounding Cairo. The city has also expanded its rapid transit Metro system, which is shown on the back cover. An extension to the airport should open next year. The second side of the map sheet shows the delta of the Nile River, which is a gigantic flood plain, and follows the course of the river south past Cairo all the way past Luxor. Much of the Red Sea is included, as is most of the Sinai Peninsula. The famous canal is, of course, shown in detail.
This map is designed for the visitor concentrating on the most popular aspects of a trip to ancient Egypt. The map also has two Top Attraction lists, one for the city and one for the region, to make it easy for users to locate such sites as the Temple of Horus or the must-see new Museum of Egypt.

Belgium: Ghent; Brussels & Flanders
Ordinær pris 199,00 krGhent is one of the most historic cities in Europe. A city of canals, it became wealthy during the Middle Ages by controlling the production of cloth over several centuries. It is full of historic buildings and desperately needs a map or one becomes lost in the narrow streets that fill the ancient city centre. However, Ghent is not all that big so we have combined it with a detailed map of Brussels, the nominal capital of Belgium and the location of the European Union HQ. It was also the site of the famous world fair in 1968, the legacy of which is the Giant Atomium.
Side 2 of the map is also a new venture for us; a detailed map of Flanders region from Liege to Lille and from south of Brussels to north of Antwerp. This portion of both France and Belgium is full of historical importance and we hope to develop this artwork in future editions. For now, it is a detailed road map showing many fortresses/castles and monuments.

Spain
Ordinær pris 199,00 krSpain is an ancient land full of historic sites dating from Roman times or the Moorish occupation. As a country, it divides naturally into northeastern Catalonia, northwestern Galicia, Central Toledo, and the Mediterranean coastal regions. This map is double-sided, with the portion closer to Portugal on one side and the Mediterranean coast from the French border to Granada on the other side. Spain has invested heavily in road improvements since joining the EU and has enthusiastically embraced rail line improvements in line with the EU’s efforts to wean travellers away from automobiles. This map emphasizes the railway network. The map also includes inset maps for the Canary Islands and the Balearics in the Mediterranean.

Spain: Balearics - Mallorca; Ibiza & Menorca
Ordinær pris 199,00 krThe Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean have been extremely popular travel destinations for centuries. Mallorca/Majorca and Ibiza have become favoured visits by cruise ships to these islands in recent years, but the warm climate has attracted visitors for a long time. Side 1 concentrates on the three major islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, and Menorca but includes the smaller islands of Formentera and Cabrera, along with an inset map showing the islands in relation to the Spanish mainland ports of Valencia and Barcelona. Side 2 focusses on cruising the entire western half of the Mediterranean, from Naples west to Gibraltar. Naturally, the Balearics end up right in the centre of the map, which also includes the islands of Corsica and Sardinia, both of which are becoming increasingly popular with those cruising. I hasten to add that cruising is the fastest growing segment of the entire travel industry, so is an important market for the mapping industry.

Walking to Jerusalem
Ordinær pris 149,00 kr Salgspris 74,50 kr Spar 50%2017 marked three important anniversaries for the palestinian people: 100 years since the balfour declaration; 50 years since the six-day war; and ten years since the blockade of gaza. As an act of penance, solidarity and hope, actor and musician justin butcher - along with ten other companions for the full route, plus another hundred joining him for various stretches along the way - walked from london to jerusalem. This book is the record of his journey: A combination of walking journal, travel writing and pilgrim stories.
It's less of a travel guide to walking across europe and more an exploration of the many strands radiating from the holy land and its narrative, weaving paths across place and history, through the lives of justin's fellow-walkers - and, of course, his own life. Between the route itinerary and the themes of balfour and christian zionism, weizmann and cordite, colonialism, jerusalem syndrome and desert spirituality, justin charts a chronicle of serendipity: Happenstances hilarious, infuriating and occasionally numinous - or, as pilgrims might say, encounters with the divine.

Lithuania & Latvia
Ordinær pris 199,00 krOur first-ever map of the Baltic country of Lithuania, which occupies Side 1 of this double-sided map. It is bordered by Latvia on its north, the Russian enclave of Kalingrad on its southeast, and Poland and Belarus on its south and east. It is now on the front lines of tension between Russia and its neighbours, as are all the Baltic states. It is also a valued member of both NATO and the EU, and as such is easy to access from either Poland or Latvia. Lithuania fronts on to the Baltic Sea with a major port at Klaipeda (formerly Memel), with its capital being Vilnius.
Historically, the country has suffered German and Russian invasions during the 20th century, the last of which resulted in the country losing its independence completely by being absorbed into the Russian Empire in the latter stages of WW2. It regained its independence in 1991, with the collapse of the USSR and shortly thereafter applied to join both the European Union and NATO. Touristically, the main attractions are shown in our Top Attractions listing. Culturally, it is closely associated with Scandinavia, especially Finland, and maintains cordial relations with Latvia and Poland. The current war in Ukraine has created difficulties entering either Russia or Belarus.
Side 2 of the map is an updated map of Latvia, with a detailed inset of its capital Riga. This Baltic country is bounded by Lithuania to the south, Estonia to the north, and Russia to the east. As all the Baltic states are members of the EU, access by air, ferry, and land are easy. Historic Riga is the main attraction of Latvia, but the region around Cesis has several significant sites of touristic interest, and the cathedral at Rezekne, in the east, is well-worth a visit.
