De tre teknologiene som brukes i et Water-to-Go-filter er:

1. Mekanisk filtrering; en veldig liten porestørrelse som hindrer at forurensninger går gjennom
2. Elektrisk (med en positiv ladning) som reduserer porestørrelsen ytterligere og tiltrekker forurensninger som en magnet og fanger dem inne i filteret.
3. Aktivt karbon. Water-to-Go sine filtre bruker aktivt karbon uten å bruke lim som vil redusere karbonets effektivitet. I stedet er aktivt karbon inneholdt i selve filtermembranen.
